TurkStream delivers 1 billion cubic meters of Russian gas

Having started the commercial transfer of Russian gas to Turkey and Europe on Jan. 1, TurkStream has delivered 1 billion cubic meters of gas, according to a statement released Monday by Russian energy firm Gazprom. About 54% of this volume was delivered to the Turkish gas market and about 46% to the Turkish-Bulgarian border the Russian company said.

Turkey, Russia launch Turkish Stream pipeline carrying gas to Europe

he presidents of Turkey and Russia on Wednesday (8 January) formally launched the Turkish Stream pipeline which will carry Russian natural gas to southern Europe through Turkey, part of Moscow’s efforts to reduce shipments via Ukraine.

Local, renewables share in Turkey increases 62% in Q1

Turkey increased its electricity production from local and renewables sources in the first quarter of 2019 to 62% compared to 48.5% during the same period of last year, according to data from the Energy and Natural Resources Ministry on May 6.

EkoRE breaks ground on 1 GW vertically integrated module factory in Turkey

The facility is in the Bor organized industrial zone of Niğde, in central Anatolia. The factory was backed by incentives provided by the country’s Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. Turkish renewables project developer Eko Yenilenebilir Enerjiler A.S. (EkoRE) has announced on its Twitter account it has begun construction of a solar module manufacturing facility in Niğde, in central Anatolia. The Turkish government included the scheme in its Project Based Investment Incentive System, a TRL2.2 billion ($405 million) incentive scheme launched in August 2017 to drive investment.

Turkey prevails in top 10 Europe wind energy power list

Turkey ranked sixth among the European continent’s 38 countries, including Russia and Ukraine, for additional installed wind capacity in 2018, WindEurope statistics showed on Thursday. Turkey added 467 megawatts (MW) in 2018 to reach a total of 7,369 MW installed capacity, according to the Wind Energy in Europe in 2018 Trends and Statistics report.

Akkuyu nuclear power contractor Rosatom, Turkish IC İçtaş plan to partner up – Daily Sabah

The Russian contractor of Turkey’s first nuclear power plant Akkuyu, located in the Mediterranean province of Mersin, was reported to be currently in talks with a leading Turkish contractor IC İçtaş. Tender for building 5 solar parks launched in Turkey
